About
Known for their evocative lyrics and engaging performances, Christian Holden, the frontperson and bassist of the critically acclaimed indie rock band The Hotelier, has captivated audiences worldwide with their heartfelt and introspective music. Formed in 2009 in Worcester, Massachusetts, The Hotelier quickly gained a following with their emotionally charged sound and thought-provoking lyrics. The band, consisting of Christian Holden, Chris Hoffman, and Sam Frederick, started as a group of high school friends united by their love for music. The Hotelier's music is often categorized within the "emo" genre, though Holden prefers to avoid strict genre labels. Their work is marked by its lyrical depth and the ability to tackle personal and societal issues with sincerity.
Influenced by their peers and bands within the indie scene, The Hotelier's sound has evolved over the years, incorporating brighter, warmer tones in their later work compared to their earlier albums. The Hotelier's second album, 'Home, Like Noplace Is There' (2014), is widely regarded as a seminal work in the emo revival movement and has received critical acclaim from numerous music publications. Their subsequent album, 'Goodness' (2016), further solidified their place in the indie rock scene with its uplifting themes and intricate compositions.
